This February, Love Where You Live is having a special Love
Month to give people the opportunity to show their love for the
places where they live.
As a council, you already work with neighbourhoods and
communities to improve their local areas. What you're doing is
fundamenental to the success of Love Where You Live in bringing
together groups, individuals and organisations to make things
happen at a local level.
Love Where You Live can help you build even closer relationships
with people on the ground by inspiring communities to take
ownership of issues and make decisions by encouraging personal
responsibility and positive action.
Together we can help you to build a shared responsibility in
communities, raise awareness and make it easier for people to keep
their area clean.
If you're already organising community events this
month then why not make them part of Love Month? We have
special branded promotional posters that you can
download here.
Don't forget to advertise your events so other people
in your area find out about them. You'll need to sign up to Love Where You Live to do this but
it doesn't take long and you can come back to the site again and
again to promote future events.
And, don't forget to tell us about what you're doing by emailing
us at lovewhereyoulive@keepbritaintidy.org We
would love to hear your stories.
Find out about what other local authorities are doing to
encourage residents and businesses to show they love where they
live on our Love Stories pages.
Here's
a great example from Durham where the council and a local
school joined forces to show their local area some
love.
