Tree planting and green-fingered stuff

Planting trees can be a great way to show where you live some love. It's a fun thing to get involved with and the results are instantly obvious. You also have the great satisfaction of seeing your trees grow in the years to come.

You may find that your local council or other groups in your area are organising tree-planting events for the public. Schools and community groups will often get involved in planting as part of educational and neighbourhood improvement projects - find out what's happening where you live.

It doesn't have to be trees either - planting vegetables, flowers and other plants all helps to make a neighbourhood feel a little more loved.

If there aren't any events already planned in your area, why not organise your own? If you do, always remember to get permission from the landowner before you embark on any planting session.
