Solo
Cup Europe showed its support for Love Where You Live by taking
part in the Day of Action on 17 October and by including the
campaign logo on a newly-designed paper cup.
Employees at the Solo Cup Europe factory and offices on St
Peter's Industrial Park, Huntingdon, were encouraged to donate
their time to take part in various initiatives designed to
demonstrate that the company really does 'love where it lives'.
Activities included a litter pick across the company's four
sites, weeding of hedges and paths, and a 'big tidy up' designed to
show that the company really cares about its environment (see staff
pictured below with bags of rubbish).

Managing Director Tony Waters, who took part in the event, said:
"Everyone enjoyed making the effort to tidy our local environment
and we're delighted to be supporting this new campaign. In fact we
think it's such a good idea we'll be doing it on a regular basis
from now on. Much of what we collected is recyclable so we
will ensure that goes into the appropriate recycling stream."
The company is showing its dedication to the
campaign beyond the Day of Action by featuring the
eye-catching Love Where You Live logo on a LWYL bespoke paper
hot cup design. Solo Cup Europe will be encouraging
distributors to stock the cup for use in retail coffee shops across
the country to encourage consumers to take care over disposal of
the cup once they have consumed their coffee.
