How to create a Basketball Bin

Like our 'Loop the Litter' Basketball Bin? Our free kit allows councils and local authorities to turn standard industrial waste bins into bins that people will really want to use. Using a sense of fun and purpose, this design concept can be adapted for use by councils right across England.

Who are these bins for?

A simple game, with a humourous message, this will engage people of all ages and backgrounds. The bins can be used in: parks; carparks, street parties, and anywhere else. They encourage people to do the right thing and put their litter in a bin.

How do councils get basketball bins without spending much money?

To find out what you need, download our kit instructions. We've also crafted a model press release that you can use to publicise the bins. If you would like a kit, please email the team.

The kit contains:

  • a template for vinyl stickers  which councils will have printed. The stickers include a place for each council to customise and to add their own place name. Be nice to  xxxxxx; Love Where You Live
  • contacts for a supplier for the detachable basketball ring .
  • a draft press release which councils can adapt.
  • a press photo for local media.
